Feed NH Kids

Students who eat breakfast at school are more likely to succeed.

The School Breakfast Challenge is an evidence-based approach to enhance school meal programs in New Hampshire.

Why School Breakfast Matters

So few children in New Hampshire are eating breakfast in school that our state ranks 46th in the nation in school breakfast participation.

It’s not because we don’t have the food. It’s because we don’t have updated systems.

Kids can’t learn when they’re hungry. When kids eat breakfast at school, they have improved attendance, fewer behavioral challenges, and have higher test scores and fewer visits to the school nurse.

But traditional school breakfast models require students to eat before school starts, and many students miss breakfast due late arrival times or avoiding the program because of stigma.

NH Hunger Solutions aims to change that.

Individual Donors

We help schools integrate breakfast into the school day through a model called Breakfast After the Bell, which helps schools make nutrition a seamless, inclusive part of the morning for all students.
