Schools are critical to fueling children’s learning. But currently, not even half of the children who receive school lunch in New Hampshire receive school breakfast. Low participation is costly to students and to communities — schools miss out on substantial federal funding and children are denied the known health and learning benefits of full participation in school nutrition programs.
Further, School Breakfast programs are critical to combatting the hunger and learning loss caused by the pandemic. School Breakfast is a pathway to strengthening academic performance and attendance as students return to school.
